Recruiting Assistant

Summary
The Recruiting Assistant will provide general support to the firm’s Legal Recruiting department, including substantive support of the firm’s On-Campus Recruitment efforts and the annual Summer Associate program. The main duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with all aspects of summer associate/entry-level hiring including:
- Registration for on-campus interviews/hospitality suites
- Preparation of interview packets, marketing materials, giveaways for hospitality suites and other on-campus events
- Act as a liaison with prospective candidates and Firm lawyers/administrators
- Travel, as needed, to law schools for on-campus interviews and other recruiting events (e.g. receptions, offer dinners, panel presentations)
- Schedule callback interviews and “second-look” visits for law students
- Help plan and attend offer dinners and other follow-up events as needed
- Work with Campus Relations team to coordinate law student organization outreach and sponsorships throughout the year
- Liaise with offices outside of New York, specifically the Bay Area, Texas offices and Washington, DC, to coordinate recruiting efforts and to ensure they have proper support
- Maintain legal recruiting database (viRecruit), assist with data entry and audit reports to ensure accuracy of information
- Help collect data for NALP forms, Employer Feedback information for schools, as well as other surveys/requests that are submitted throughout the year
- Process expense reports and check requests, occasionally book travel, and assist with other administrative tasks that may arise from time to time
- Support the summer associate performance review process, tracking outstanding reviews and creating complete files for partners to review
- Participation and involvement in other departmental responsibilities and/or firm-wide projects as is appropriate (e.g. summer associate events, lateral recruiting, recruiting brochure and website updates, campus relations, diversity & inclusion initiatives, etc.)
- Assist with other administrative duties, as assigned, and provide support for the Legal Recruiting Director and the recruiting department, as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred (esp. viRecruit)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High energy, works well independently, but also excels at collaborating with a team
- Ability to keep calm and focused despite heavy workload, stressful situations and/or tight deadlines
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with attorneys, candidates, administrative staff, and others
- Exhibits high level of maturity, confidentiality and excellent judgment
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with attorneys, candidates, administrative staff, and others
- Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed, especially during recruiting season (July-September and January-February)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 1 year of law firm/law school recruiting experience and/or related professional experience required
