Manager, Global Diversity

Summary

Responsible for managing the development and implementation of the Firm’s Global Diversity initiatives. Manage the delivery of diversity and inclusion education programs. Serve as point person for affinity groups and collaborate with them to create, and implement programs and events. Oversee analysis of internal and external diversity metrics. Manage internal and external diversity communications efforts.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Global Diversity & Social Responsibility Director to develop and implement global diversity initiatives, such as heritage month programs, Diversity Month events, and annual US diversity education workshops.
  • Liaise with affinity groups to plan and execute programs, including conferences, client networking events, mentoring circles, internal meetings, etc.
  • Manage internal and external communications efforts, including client surveys and RFPs, award submissions, factsheets, website, etc.
  • Design and oversee analysis of diversity metrics, including diversity scorecards.
  • Support and participate in the Diversity Committee, Taskforce on Women’s Engagement and Retention, and Pan Affinity Council.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience in diversity and inclusion.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of diversity and inclusion topics in a professional setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with administrative staff and attorneys at all levels within a large law firm setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience creating content for web and print-based publications.
  • Knowledge and experience with metrics and statistical analysis in Excel.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills,
  • Experience executing programs and events in a timely and effective manner
  • Work well under pressure and effective at multi-tasking.
  • Exceptional client service focus with strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work on assignments & initiatives independently while using good judgment in deciding when to take action or when to ask for direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Graduate degree a plus.
