Manager, Social Responsibility & Firm Foundation

Job Description
Manages Firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio and Firm Foundation programs in the U.S. with a look towards international expansion of programs.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions
- Serve as a member of the Firm’s Philanthropic Committee. Help prepare reports and present at Committee meetings.
- Manage the Firm’s charitable giving portfolio, including granting awards to nonprofits – liaising directly with nonprofit partners, ensuring sponsorship ads and logos are submitted, coordinating with Business Development managers, Partners and Secretaries to ensure tables are filled with Firm and/or clients as needed.
- Manage the Firm’s grants management platform, YourCause, including ongoing updates and efficiencies to the platform, implementation and roll out.
- Program manage the Firm Foundations signature philanthropic initiative including management of law school and public service organization stakeholders, and all aspects of participant selection, marketing and communications, and coordination across all Firm offices.
- Build out the Firm’s nonprofit Board Service program including maintaining updated lists on individuals serving on boards, identifying opportunities for proactive Board placements and nonprofit participants in program, managing internal Board protocols and policies with the Ethics and Compliance department.
- Work with Human Resources department to roll out Firm Foundation Scholarship Program on an annual basis.
- Participate in external CSR/Foundation roundtables, remaining up to date on latest CSR and Foundation trends, best practices, engaging as a thought leader on CSR and corporate foundations.
- Manage communications and marketing for Firm Foundation and CSR including website updates, internal employee intranet (Portal), annual report and other printed materials.
- Support and build out the Firm’s green/sustainability efforts.
- Partner with the Professional Development, Legal Recruiting, Business Development, Global Diversity & Social Responsibility, Pro Bono, departments on an on-going basis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum of 5 years in Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Communications/Marketing, Human Resources, or Nonprofit Management required.
- Experience working with senior leaders and multiple stakeholders across industries and sectors required.
- Must be an experienced project/program manager. Must have experience developing and implementing programs and conducting program evaluations.
- Must be highly motivated, organized, accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under time constraints.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer service relationships with attorneys, administrative staff, firm clients, nonprofit stakeholders and law school contacts.
- Adheres to Firm policies and procedures and supports Firm’s initiatives.
- Attend training classes and completes annual training requirements. Has a desire for continuous learning and improvement.
- Exhibits strong working knowledge of Firm’s software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn and manage the Firm’s grants management database, YourCause.
- Observes confidentiality of all Firm matters and performs under the guidelines of the Administrative Staff Principles.
- Flexibility with work schedule. Travel may be required.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
