Business Development Analyst-Financial Services/FinTech

Summary
The Business Development Analyst-Financial Services/FinTech, will work closely with Financial Services partners and partners across practices who are involved in Financial Services/FinTech transactions to develop, execute and promote marketing and business development programs for the assigned practice groups and coverage areas. Key objectives are to generate revenues through a focused and coordinated approach to business development activities including profile raising, pitching, and market research in support of the practice group’s efforts. The position will coordinate closely with international colleagues and other marketing team members on global cross-selling efforts, including support for client teams, industry groups and other firm-wide BD efforts and initiatives. The Analyst will form part of a team of three (comprising one specialist and two analysts) in supporting the Financial Services/FinTech practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing markets and conducting research into industries, sectors, clients and competition in order to inform strategic planning
- Drafting custom pitches and RFPs and tracking success rates in the client relationship management database; collaborating with core BD team in advocating best practices
- Preparing all relevant directory submissions; scheduling interview calls; preparing specific talking points; identifying and tracking practice specific awards / submissions
- Developing and maintaining marketing collateral (brochures, capability presentations, web content) in conjunction with core BD team; ensuring all information are kept up-to-date
- Monitoring various marketing publications and other sources for potential opportunities and communicating intelligence gathered to partners on a regular basis
- Supporting practice group’s efforts to develop and implement their business plans and marketing budgets, individual partner plans and targeted business development efforts
- Assisting in the design and execution of new business initiatives for the practices including thought leadership, events, client seminars and / or training programs with communications, core BD and other admin teams and departments
PR/Communications
- Coordinating with the PR/Communications team to identify media opportunities , including speaking and by-lined articles; facilitating publication of articles and other writings

- Thorough knowledge of MS Suite-Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working with document management systems and experience management databases Knowledge of InterAction a plus
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years in progressively responsible business development roles in legal marketing or other professional services firms; preferably in a transactional or corporate practice
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Significant experience managing pitches, legal directory submissions and the full range of legal marketing and business development services
- Experience working in an international firm across time zones
Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous
- Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours as needed
- Ability to commute to and work standard work business hours in the office on a daily basis
