Career Development Coordinator
Summary
The Career Development Coordinator will report to the firm’s Director of Career Development and be part of the Professional Development & Training Department. The Career Development Coordinator will primarily focus on assisting in the execution of career development initiatives, including coaching and programming/conference initiatives.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Career Development, the Career Development Coordinator will:
- Assist in event planning and execution of training conferences and events for the firm’s attorneys, including alumni panels, New Associate Orientation, Midlevel Associate Conference, Senior Associate Conference and New Partner Orientation.
- Coordinate lateral associate integration including tracking onboarding and coaching opportunities.
- Manage tracking of firm’s coaching roster, including oversight of external consultant/coach invoices.
- Manage tracking of junior associate on-the-job observation opportunities.
- Collaborate with various departments throughout the firm, including:
- PD&T team members to coordinate programs.
- Inclusion, Legal Personnel and Alumni Relations to coordinate mentorship initiatives and programs.
- Legal Personnel and Pro Bono to track attorney experiences.
- IT, graphic design and audio/visual professionals to develop updated materials and engaging programming.
- Events department to coordinate professionals to ensure flawless program execution.
- Assist with update of career development forms and marketing materials.
- Assist in maintaining internal training database to optimize user experience.
- Assist in adoption of new technology initiatives in support of other duties.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of experience in a professional services firm, either in training and development, legal personnel, recruitment or other talent management role.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, including strong attention to detail in all written work.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility and responsiveness, and the ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a client service orientation a must.
- Highly motivated self-starter, strong work ethic, enthusiastic “can do” attitude and eagerness to take ownership of the job responsibilities;
- Some overtime may be required.
