Summary
The Temporary Litigation Support Analyst is responsible for providing quality case automation support to the Firm’s litigation practice group that may include clients, attorneys, and paralegals. Maintains and supports the technology used by the litigation practice group and insures the projects are handled effectively and efficiently to meet the demands of the case team. Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following. Other duties may be requested and/or assigned. - Process and load incoming data files, images, and other electronic files into litigation support databases or other media.
- Assist in database project planning and design; maintain customized Concordance database.
- Coordinate and/or implement electronic discovery efforts including third-party vendor identification and interface.
- Train litigation staff and provide on-going technical support for all litigation support
- Maintain day-to-day relationships with litigation attorneys and paralegals to ensure responsiveness to their matters and to provide support for their use of core litigation support applications.
- Coordinate sensitive issues with the Automated Practice Support Manager.
- After-hours support may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience and working knowledge of the litigation support process and workflow including database searching and reporting, scanning and coding procedures, electronic discovery management, document production, and trial support.
- Prior experience and working knowledge of standard business applications, imaging systems, and Firm core litigation support applications (Concordance, Opticon, Sanction, CaseMap, and/or LiveNote) are required. Must be quality and results oriented.
- Computer proficient with working knowledge and experience in various industry standard Operating Systems and end user productivity tools. Data entry skills with 85% accuracy preferred.
- Experience working in a law firm supporting software used to meet legal practice requirements is a strong plus. Previous software applications experience with a larger organization is preferred.
- Exhibit high degree of initiative with demonstrated troubleshooting, follow-through, and critical-thinking skills in order to manage multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-paced, and detail-oriented work environment with the ability to make decisions based upon results of research.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy and efficiently follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information.
- Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish concise, detailed information in report format, written correspondence, e‑mail, or verbally.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Ability to act independently and make decisions within scope of the position’s responsibilities.
- Possess excellent knowledge of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and formatting in order to analyze and interpret source data, perform data entry, proofread material for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors, and perform file maintenance.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply mathematical concepts when performing and verifying calculations on forms and documents.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, laser printer, telephone, photocopier, calculator, scanner, facsimile, etc.
- Ability to occasionally retrieve and distribute files, written documentation, or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Work occasionally requires more than 35 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position because after-hours support may be required.
Work Environment
- The work environment is characteristic of a normal office environment with moderate exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, etc.
