Litigation Paralegal

The New York office of a premier, global, law firm is seeking a career litigation paralegal with 2 to 5 years of experience who is a responsible and proactive professional willing to take a leading role in supporting the office’s dynamic litigation practice groups. In addition to assisting with all facets of the litigation process, the preferred candidate will be able to work autonomously and have the ability and demonstrated track record providing case management on large complex matters, with a strong proficiency in motion practice, e-discovery, and deposition and trial prep. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: proactively manage all phases of discovery; assist with various court filings at the Appellate, Federal, and State court levels; proficient with the mechanics of e-filing and e-file with courts and agencies; maintain and organize case files; conduct factual and legal research; proofread, cite check and shepardize briefs and legal memoranda; and manage case calendar and electronic case rooms. Applicants should also be proficient with Concordance and Relativity. Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s degree. Success factors include: a strong academic background, excellent oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. The Paralegal must be a team player and have the ability to maintain good working relationships with personnel and to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly. Overtime may often be required on short notice.
