Legal Personnel Coordinator

Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Legal Personnel and daily supervision of the Legal Personnel Supervisor, the Legal Personnel Coordinator will be a member of the Legal Personnel administration team. They will be responsible for maintaining attorney personnel records and processing employee status changes, coordinating the relocation process, first year onboarding, tracking bar admission status and bar association memberships. The Legal Personnel Coordinator will work with all members of the Legal Personnel Department on various administrative projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain personnel records in Workday; responsible for processing changes in attorney employment status.
- Coordinate details related to first year associate arrivals: maintain master lists; process reimbursements; coordinate all mailings; process employment verifications; respond to first year inquiries.
- Coordinate relocation process for incoming first years, laterals and expats. Coordinate with travel department and relocation companies.
- Track bar admission for first years, lateral associates and transfers. Process requests for certificates of good standing; coordinate with NYS departments as needed.
- Assist in budgeting for First Year bar admission and relocation expenses.
- Track bar association membership for attorneys in all offices.
- Provide support to other Legal Personnel teams, as needed.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Prior Law Firm experience strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook required. Workday experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Self-starter & ability to work under limited supervision.
- Positive, flexible attitude; team player.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with attorneys.
- Must be flexible and available for overtime as needed.
