As a Litigation Paralegal I you will be responsible for performing legal tasks, working on legal projects, and providing administrative support to attorneys while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

  • Coordinating ongoing projects and activities in either on-site or off-site locations, utilizing project assistants, support departments, and secretaries when necessary
  • Monitoring and providing reports regarding cases, matters, hearings, trials, and/or meetings
  • Developing and managing document databases
  • Attending and providing support to attorneys at trial or hearings
  • Creating and maintaining calendars for cases and distributing to supervisors and other team members
  • Organizing, reviewing, summarizing, and drafting documents
  • Anticipating typical work for a case and working with supervisors to ensure all aspects are addressed
  • Demonstrating effective verbal and written communication with clients, outside vendors, and other parties
  • Performing basic research of court rules, companies or individuals.
  • Promoting effective work practices and working as a team member.

As a Litigation Paralegal I, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Litigation Paralegal I must be able to accurately interpret and understand legal concepts and procedures as they relate to the Litigation practice.  Proficient knowledge of internal software applications, such as word processing, internet searching skills, spreadsheets, and databases is desired, as well as the organizational and project management skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.  Knowledge of the following is also desired: MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook; Concordance, iConect, Relativity, or similar applications; Case Notebook or other transcript repository software.  Bluebooking is a preferred skill.

A Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is required.  Entry-level through five (5) years of experience, preferably as a Paralegal is desired.
