Summary
While working under the general direction of the Financial Systems Manager and according to established Firm policies and procedures. The Financial Systems Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for customization and maintenance of the Aderant system and third party add-ons. This position will also provide assistance in project management based on business requirements. Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following. Other duties may be requested and/or assigned.
- Provide technical support related to financial accounting system and third party products, such as: Minisoft ARCS, Redwood, LawDrill, Target Cash and ChromeRiver.
- Develop and document customization to accounting applications (menus, inquiries, screens).
- Create and document reporting to meet business needs.
- Coordinate and manage accounting system and third party upgrades by creating upgrade plan and documentation of changes and training necessary.
- Responsible for testing accounting applications related to upgrades, enhancements and system changes.
- Create/modify/enhance prebill and billing templates using Aderant tools.
- Creating/modifying check, prebill and billing templates, create/modify reports, create/modify alerts, manage upgrades and hotfixes, and modifying menus/views.
- Act as liaison with IT department.
- Troubleshoot application errors.
- Perform special projects as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Finance/Accounting preferred and four or more years relevant work experience in the maintenance and support of Financial Accounting Systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer proficient and extensive knowledge of T-SQL. Ability to create custom stored procedures and SQL views. Knowledge of the Aderant table structure with ability to add custom fields and modify database as required. Ability to create custom applications to meet varying business requirements
- Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information. Ability to compile and analyze complex data and furnish information in detailed report format, written correspondence, e-mail, or verbally.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic are necessary in order to conduct audits and assure the integrity of the Accounting System.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts.
- Exhibit high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment, administrative abilities, and decision-making skills. Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Ability to act independently and make decisions within scope of the position’s responsibilities.
- Ability to perform detailed mathematical calculations and apply mathematical concepts when computing, reconciling balances, verifying numerical data, and preparing various accounting reports.
- Ability to occasionally retrieve and distribute files, written documentation, or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime when required at year-end in order to process heavy volume of accounting processes. Work occasionally requires more than 35.0 hours per week to perform the essential duties.
