Coordinator, Business Development Communications

Summary
Work closely with members of the Firm’s Business Development & Communications Department to execute initiatives designed to enhance the visibility and profile of the Firm, its lawyers, practice groups and offices. Reports to the Director of Communications.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:
- Coordinate legal directory research.
- Act as a resource for all information relating to legal directories and legal research guides/ranking organizations.
- Coordinate other survey responses, including through working with members of other Firm departments to collect data
- Research new opportunities for awards and rankings and act as a resource for that information.
- Maintain calendar of upcoming deadlines.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry or market trends to aid in the development of submissions and award nominations.
- Contribute to Firm-wide marketing/business development initiatives, including messaging and follow-up as necessary; work directly with all levels of staff.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1 to 3 years of communications, marketing or legal related experience.
- Strong Knowledge of Business and Legal vocabulary, including a familiarity with deal descriptions as well as litigation terminology.
- An understanding of large global law Firm business, the competitive set and the best ways of positioning different geographies and practices.
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills to interface with all levels at the Firm. Articulate with strong influencing and persuasion skills and superior ability to collaborate cross functionally.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to handle monitor multiple projects on a regular basis.
- Working knowledge of public relations and understanding of media requirements and deadlines.
- Knowledge of strategic communications with a strong understanding of effective external communications and stakeholder management as a key business driver.
- Impeccable attention to detail and creative flair.
- Aptitude for understanding new technologies quickly.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe and other publishing software.
- Ability to understand and develop relationships with key members of the legal directory publications.
- Superior team player; positive attitude; high energy, drive, determination and collaborative nature.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
