Legal Personnel Specialist

Summary
The Legal Personnel Specialist will assist with various aspects of the Legal Personnel department with a focus in on-boarding and immigration.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating all aspects of the immigration process for attorneys in the New York office;
- Working closely with immigration counsel to secure U.S. work authorization for incoming associates, current associates and foreign associate attorneys;
- Coordinating the onboarding process for new hires, including the conflicts clearance process, review and verification of background checks and transcripts;
- Acting as a point person for new hires prior to and upon their arrival;
- Planning and coordinating various logistics for all new hire orientations;
- Sharing the responsibility of leading one-off orientation sessions;
- Working alongside the Legal Personnel Manager to oversee the Foreign Associate Program and secondments to clients;
- Working closely with Managing Partners on caucus and Firm meeting materials;
- Coordinating the monthly budget review and assisting in preparation of analysis for year-end budget;
- Working closely with Legal Personnel Directors and Managers on various initiatives and programs addressing associate feedback, work life balance and retaining associates;
- Completing various Firm surveys and questionnaires;
- Conducting exit interviews; and
- Performing other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, at least 5 years of experience in Legal Personnel or applicable experience in a service industry firm;
- Immigration experience a plus;
- Ability to work and interact with attorneys at all levels;
- Excellent organization and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment;
- Proficiency in various computer applications including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn proprietary databases within Firm;
- Knowledge of viDesktop a plus;
- Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
- Ability to problem-solve and successfully meet deadlines;
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
- Availability to work additional hours, as needed.

Salary: Competitive, above market compensation, dependent on experience.
