Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

Overview
The Diversity and Inclusion Specialist will be responsible for aspects of Diversity & Inclusion administration.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Diversity Committee and the Women’s Initiative Steering Committee;
- Assisting in the coordination of programming that meets the Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE requirement;
- Working members of the Legal Personnel department to develop and implement programs and events for the Women’s Initiative and affinity groups;
- Generating ideas and helping to implement programming related to heritage and identity months/weeks;
- Liaises with affinity groups;
- Coordinating the Women’s Senior Initiative and other similar programs, women’s and joint affinity group lunches, Working Parents Group meetings;
- Coordinating lawyers’ participation in professional organizations’ diversity events;
- Assisting in diversity-related client requests;
- Maintaining the content on the diversity section of firm website;
- Coordinating the completion of various diversity-related surveys;
- Gaining a thorough understanding of Firm databases and reports as they relate to diversity-related demographics;
- Assisting in the collection, analysis and reporting of diversity data;
- Responsible for administering Cvent as it relates to diversity-related internal programming;
- Working with members of the Legal Personnel department to prepare diversity-related sections of the department’s budget and track related expenses;
- Working with Recruiting and Special Events to coordinate the women and joint affinity group recruiting cocktails;
- Coordinating and monitoring follow-up recruitment efforts as they relate to women and students of color;
- Coordinating the Firm’s participation in Kate Stoneman Project events;
- Serving as the primary contact for a cohort of summer associates;
- Attending diversity-related events;
- Keeping abreast of developments as they relate to diversity and inclusion efforts in the legal profession;
- Assisting with recruiting efforts including, Super Saturdays, hospitality suites, lunch calls and on-line searches as necessary; and
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- 3+ years related work experience preferably in a legal or other professional services environment;
- Ability to work and interact with attorneys at all levels;
- Ability to gain strong knowledge of the Firm, its culture, practices and policies;
- Excellent writing and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment;
- Comfortable working with and analyzing numerical data and other metrics;
- Experience and ability to use computer applications including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PeopleSoft and other legal personnel and recruiting applications built specifically for the Firm;
- Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
- Capable of solving problems and meeting deadlines;
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Highly competitive above market compensation, dependent on experience.
