As a Paralegal II-Real Estate you will be responsible for assisting in various stages of closing commercial real estate transactions (loans, refinancings, acquisitions, sales and leasing transactions) for a client base which includes lenders, developers and investors while accomplishing these and other critical functions:
- Reviewing title materials, surveys, zoning reports, lease-related documents and other due diligence items, as well as coordinating with diligence service providers
- Preparing and maintaining transaction checklists
- Preparing closing documents under the supervision of attorneys and maintaining closing files
- Following up on post-closing matters
- Coordinating and arranging regularly scheduled meetings for the New York Real Estate practice group and Real Estate practice groups of other U.S.-based offices.
As a Paralegal II-Real Estate, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Paralegal II – Real Estate must have proficient knowledge of applications typically used in a legal office environment, such as Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills are desired, as well as the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm, clients and other transaction parties. The Paralegal must display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
A Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is required, as well as five-plus (5+) years of related law firm experience as a Real Estate Paralegal. Experience in title and survey review is required. Solid experience assisting on commercial, multi-state real estate transactions is preferred. An ideal candidate should have knowledge of basic corporate structures and UCC matters. Working knowledge of NYC’s ACRIS System is welcomed.
