Securities Litigation Legal Assistant

A forward thinking, mid-sized law firm with over 170 lawyers and offices in four states, offering a broad range of legal services is seeking a Securities Litigation Legal Assistant to support their Managing Partner and three other attorneys. Based in the firm’s New York Battery Park office, the Legal Assistant will be assigned to support attorneys in the securities practice group.
Primary tasks include:
- Organizing case files and documents;
- Case tracking and calendaring;
- Time entry;
- Document production;
- E-filing;
- Interacting with firm personnel and outside counsel;
- Preparing standard form responses;
- Travel arrangements;
- Reception coverage;
- Supporting other projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:
- Minimum of 5 years’ current legal assistant experience in litigation is essential.
- Securities arbitration experience preferred;
- E-filing experience preferred;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Able to manage multiple tasks.
- Team player; provide back-up support when available and as needed.
