Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Fiduciary Services, the Fiduciary Accountant will interact with Partners, Associates and clients on all aspects of estate administration, estate tax returns and income tax returns (fiduciary).
Primary responsibilities include:
- Prepare estate planning computations, gift tax returns, estate tax returns, Applications for Recognition of Exemption (Form 1023) Form 990’s, Form 990PF and other miscellaneous tax and legal forms.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Law firm experience a plus.
- Paralegal training/experience helpful.
- Must have thorough knowledge of estate and fiduciary income taxes.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently, be proactive, have strong follow up skills.
- Must be flexible for overtime.
- Must be a good team player, have good communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have strong arithmetic and writing skills.
- Must be able to juggle multiple competing priorities, and have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have good client service skills.
