Conflicts Analyst

Summary
The Conflicts Analyst is responsible for assisting the Conflicts Manager and Assistant Conflicts Managers in administering the Firm’s conflict of interest systems and procedures for new business and new hires by running conflict checks using the Firm’s conflicts management software, providing detailed reports to Firm attorneys and staff, reviewing new business intake forms for accuracy and completeness, finalizing new matter requests, maintaining and updating the conflicts database, and assisting with special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the Firm’s conflicts clearance process by responding to attorney and staff requests to perform conflicts of interest searches for new matters and new hires.
- Review and research party relationships for new matters and follow-up with attorneys and staff as needed for additional information.
- Utilize conflicts database by formulating search queries and generating reports regarding party relationships in current and former matters.
- Liaise with attorneys on a daily basis in order to report on conflict checks and obtain necessary information in order to open new matters.
- Assist in maintaining, updating and monitoring the Firm’s conflicts database by ensuring proper data entry.
- Provide administrative support to the Conflicts Manager and Assistant Conflicts Managers with special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Legal and/or conflict of interest experience with a large law firm preferred.
- Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to organize and summarize detailed information in a concise and clear manner.
- Experience with conflict management software preferred.
- Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- On-call availability during weekend hours as needed.
