Diversity Coordinator

Summary
The Diversity Coordinator will report to and work closely with the Diversity Manager and Chief Diversity Officer in the implementation of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion strategic planning and goals.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with firmwide and local affinity groups to plan and execute internal and external programs including meetings, conferences, and client networking events
- Liaise with community organizations to coordinate sponsorship and partnership opportunities
- Work closely with Chief Diversity Officer and Diversity Manager to coordinate and implement global diversity initiatives, such as Unconscious Bias Training, heritage month programming and diversity events
- Provide event support for internal and external diversity-related programming
- Support and participate in the local diversity committees; assist local diversity leadership in coordinating logistics, executing programs and follow-up
- Coordinate with the HRIS team to collect, review and maintain current diversity statistics and collate information to complete RFPs and benchmarking surveys requested by clients and outside organizations (e.g. ABA Model Diversity Survey). Review and analyze diversity statistics and prepare tailored narrative responses for surveys, RFPs and awards submissions
- Advise and support the creation and maintenance of a robust, up-to-date data bank to provide support for the narratives for diversity and inclusion questions on RFPs, client pitches, surveys and awards submissions
- Work closely with Diversity Assistant to maintain department files; responsible for tracking and updating department reporting tools including but not limited to monthly calendars and programming overviews
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with attorneys and staff at all levels within a large law firm setting
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and report statistical data for internal Firm presentations, client surveys and RFPs, and external benchmarking surveys
- Event management experience; overseeing a program/event from start to finish including sourcing vendors, negotiations, onsite management and follow-up as needed
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills; effective at multi-tasking
- Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience creating content for web and print-based publications
- Proactive self-starter who is able to self-manage and also work as part of a team, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working in a legal or other global professional services firm
- Must have at least three years of direct experience in diversity and inclusion
- Must have a strong knowledge of diversity and inclusion topics in a global professional services setting
