The Litigation Paralegal II is responsible for performing legal tasks, working on legal projects, and providing administrative support to attorneys. Your duties and responsibilities will include these and other critical functions:

  • Coordinating ongoing projects and activities in either on-site or off-site locations, utilizing project assistants, support departments, and secretaries when necessary
  • Monitoring and providing reports regarding cases, matters, hearings, trials, and/or meetings
  • Developing and managing document databases
  • Attending and providing support to attorneys at trial or hearings
  • Creating and maintaining calendars for cases and distributing to supervisors and other team members
  • Organizing, reviewing, summarizing, and drafting documents
  • Anticipating typical work for a case and working with supervisors to ensure all aspects are addressed
  • Demonstrating effective verbal and written communication with clients, outside vendors, and other parties
  • Performing basic research of court rules, companies or individuals
  • Promoting effective work practices and working as a team member

The successful Litigation Paralegal II will have a bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, as well as four (4)+ years related law firm experience, preferably as a Paralegal. The Litigation Paralegal II will have proficient knowledge of internal software applications, such as word processing, internet searching skills, spreadsheets and databases. Knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook; knowledge of Eclipse, Relativity or similar application; knowledge of Case Notebook or other transcript repository software is preferred; knowledge of CaseMap, TimeMap or other timeline software. The Litigation Paralegal II will have well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm; will accurately interpret and understand legal concepts and procedures as they relate to practice areas; the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that convey professionalism and responsiveness; organizational and project management skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. Knowledge of Lexis or Westlaw applications a plus. Qualified candidates will have the ability to work flexible hours. Occasional travel may be required.
