Technical Advisor

Summary

The Technical Advisor performs advanced analysis of relevant technologies, scientific literature, patents and other materials for patent and technology litigation matters within the Intellectual Property Litigation group.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as part of patent litigation teams in connection with infringement lawsuits and pre-suit investigations, with a technical focus on electrical engineering, computer science, and related areas;
  • Conduct and document analysis of technical publications, patents, and materials and other scientific analysis, including supporting preparation of reports and opinions on technical issues, such as patent infringement and validity;
  • Work directly with expert witnesses and litigation teams to investigate and develop strategy and positions on technical issues;
  • Assist in preparation for testimony and examination of experts and other technical witnesses;
  • Handle additional related projects as assigned;
  • Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work; and
  • Meet expectations of billable hours and work beyond scheduled hours as required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in technical fields including computer hardware and software, semiconductors, e-commerce, digital broadcasting and wireless networking, mobile devices, or related fields;
  • Advanced proficiency in analysis in the relevant technical areas;
  • Advanced ability to think strategically and collaborate productively as part of a team;
  • Advanced proficiency in communicating technical concepts both in writing and orally; and
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (required); Advanced degree (preferred).
