Specialist, Legal Recruiting
Job Description
Help coordinate the legal recruiting function while providing support to the Director, Legal Recruiting and other members of the recruitment staff.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:
- Manage on-campus recruiting process of designated schools, including scheduling of attorneys for on-campus and fly-back interviews; maintenance of files for candidates; compile and distribute materials for hiring committee meetings and schedule and attend same.
- Arrange in-house interview schedules, greet and escort students, maintain and update student files, assist in the planning of recruiting events, organize materials for campus programs and assist with hiring season statistics.
- Lead the registration process for fall on-campus interviews, set up in-office callback interview schedules, compile statistical data and charts regarding callback outcome and viRecruit input and updates as needed.
- Plan and facilitate summer events, summer calendar, invitations, intranet, attorney handbook, summer associate binders and summer gifts.
- Partner with legal recruiting team in the administration of the Summer Associate (SA) Program, including communication with recruits prior to arrival; assist with housing as needed; plan events/functions and follow-up on SA evaluations.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer service relationships with candidates, vendors and Weil attorneys, managers and support staff.
- Assist in management of office purchase of tables for recruiting events and sponsorships, including maintaining history, acquiring appropriate approval and budgeting, and processing check requests, if necessary.
- Provide support for lateral interviews as needed, including in-house interview schedules and viRecruit input and updates.
- Any other responsibilities as needed by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 5+ years in legal or campus recruitment for a Big Law firm.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and within budget.
- Self-starter; ability to remain self-directed and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed (significant overtime during summer/fall).
- Must be open occasional (2-3 times a year) travel.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent PC skills.
- Makes appropriate and timely decisions within area of responsibility.
- Speaks and writes clearly and accurately; actively listens and responds to the needs of others.
- Without direction, anticipates needs and seeks alternatives to situations.
