Summary
A leading, global, law firm has an opening for a Business Development Coordinator in their New York office. The Business Development Coordinator supports business development and marketing initiatives, pitch and proposal efforts in the corporate department, and the development of client relationships and new business opportunities. The Business Development Coordinator will report to the Business Development Supervisor.
In this capacity, the Business Development Coordinator will:
- Participate in planning, preparing and implementing the Business Development Department’s initiatives, including any of the following: pitches/proposals; RFP responses, cross-selling activities, and promotion of best practices;
- Provide support in the preparation, editing, coordination and dissemination of marketing materials including pitches/proposals for potential and existing clients;
- Prepare industry and geography-specific research projects with market and competitive analyses; help identify business development opportunities and develop client target lists;
- Maintain various client outreach and client activity logs and databases;
- Maintain and update the Business Development practice descriptions, brochures, lawyer biographies and experience lists. Lead the collection of deal and case data from lawyers for quarterly league table reporting;
- Preparing and distributing internal newsletters and communications to relevant practice groups and BD team members;
- Collaborate on key client and industry initiatives;
- Support the development and execution of annual business plans for both developing practices and client relationships;
- Assist in the implementation of seminars and events;
- Participate in Business Development departmental cross-training;
- Work overtime as required; and
- Handle additional Business Development and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree;
- At least 3 years of marketing experience;
- At least 3 years of experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred);
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment;
- Excellent communication, writing and proofreading skills;
- Fundamental knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
- Fundamental knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level; and
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
