Job Description

The Professional Development Coordinator will provide support to the Directors, Managers and firm’s lawyers primarily in the Litigation Department. The Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that the firm’s training programs, projects and initiatives are conducted in a professional manner and that the service delivered is of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for in-house training programs, including arranging meetings, sending invitations, making room reservations and preparing materials.
  • Manage post-program wrap up including finalizing timed agendas, sign-in sheets, evaluation summaries, attendance tracking and uploading training videos to training library.
  • Maintain the firm’s training library and bulletin, including posting programs, announcements, and updates.
  • Create, process, and maintain department files, including department calendar, continuing legal education compliance documents and consultant contracts.
  • Provide administrative assistance for client programs including preparing sign-in sheets, tracking, creation and distribution CLE certificates, and maintenance of client CLE library.
  • Create and organize event collateral including nametags, sign-in sheets, and signage.
  • Handle departmental administrative tasks, including answering phones, document formatting, “one-off” projects and other special assignments (for example, assisting in the roll-out of new technological solutions), as needed.
  • Manage department’s expense reimbursements and check requests.
  • Serve as back-up and provide support to the CLE Administrator, Coordinators, Managers, Directors and Chief for all programs and events.

Required Skills

  • BA degree, plus 2+ years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in a law firm or other professional services firm;
  • Complete proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
  • Extremely strong organizational and planning skills, written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly motivated self-starter, strong work ethic, enthusiastic “can do” attitude and eagerness to take ownership of the job responsibilities;
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, accuracy, precision and follow-up.
