Business Development Analyst-Litigation

Reports to: BD Manager-Litigation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The person in this position will support the Business Development Manager-Litigation with a variety of marketing, business development, and promotional activities, including preparing marketing collateral and conducting market and competitive research for the Litigation Department. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and pitch materials for prospective and existing clients.
- Maintain the department’s database, which records and tracks matters for precedent, marketing, and business development purposes.
- Assist in the tracking of representative matters, client lists, and industry/geographic experience for ongoing use in practice-area marketing efforts.
- Manage the regular update of website’s marketing content, including office and select practice area descriptions with our Web Team.
- Coordinate select profile and directory submissions for various legal publications and industry ranking guides (e.g., Chambers, Benchmark Litigation, Legal 500).
- Conduct research and compile relevant information regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry and market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external litigation matter announcements.
- Provide litigation information for and otherwise support Business Development responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Prepare targeted matter lists that focus on specific geographic and industry sectors in connection with various business development opportunities.
- Provide analytical/technical support to one or more specialized client service teams.

- Demonstrated ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education and/or Experience
- Three to five years of experience in a business development or marketing role in a professional services environment (law-firm specific background, particularly on the litigation side, is a plus).
- Experience with InterAction or another CRM program preferred.
- Experience with legal-research and legal-news databases and resources (e.g., Capital IQ, atVantage, Lexis Nexis, Courthouse News Service, Thomson, PACER) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or finance preferred (advanced degree a plus).
