Director of Client Accounts: Billing & Collections

Requisition Description
The Director of Client Accounts provides strategic leadership for the Billing & Collections function and team by establishing long-range business goals, strategies, and tactical execution plans. The Director is responsible for driving operational excellence and adding value to the firm, practice groups, and partners through ensuring timeliness of billing and collection activities and support of billing attorneys. The Director develops collaborative partnerships with peer leaders in Financial Operations, Partners, Firm leadership and other functions to deliver results. The Director provides leadership and direction to Billing and Collections team through talent development and performance management and ensures client service and satisfaction is attained in all areas of position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business discipline preferred.
- Minimum twelve years’ experience with specialized billing, collection or account management.
- High degree of business acumen and emotional intelligence in order to interface with, and influence, partners and billing attorneys in order to achieve desired billing and collection outcomes for the Firm.
- Minimum ten years people management experience with at least five years in a leadership position.
- Law Firm or professional services background with international exposure preferred.
- Strong experience in leading process improvement initiatives and work flow redesign, with documented record of success.
- Proven ability to grow and develop talent.
