Business Development Coordinator-Client Events

Job Description
As a Business Development Coordinator – Client Events you will work as a member of the Business Development (BD) department and will be responsible for client events, meetings, speaking engagements and conferences. You will assist in the budgeting, planning, execution of events and preparing post-event reports to evaluate performance/success of events. You will also be responsible for record keeping (such as RSVP and attendance lists), and the management of vendor relationships. The Business Development Coordinator – Client Events will also be a regional resource for the firm’s CRM database (InterAction) and will be responsible for maintaining local data, responding to user queries regarding data changes and updates, distribution of event invitations while accomplishing these and other critical functions:
- Event Planning and Management
- Coordinating all client event logistics including mailing lists, invitations, marketing collaterals, on-site event management, set-up and dismantle.
- Post-Event Evaluation
- Producing post-event analysis, such as final attendance reports, budget summaries and post-event reports to evaluate performance/success of events.
- Working with the global E-Marketing team on CRM data maintenance and invitation design using third-party software.
- Maintaining internal event tracking and reporting.
- Researching venues and preparing summaries of venue availability, costs and capacities and negotiating and managing facility arrangements for room set-up, technical assistance and catering.
- Researching and making recommendations on BD opportunities for lawyers to sponsor or participate in relevant industry and professional association events; analyzing the benefits of sponsorship, and confirming accuracy and appearance of firm logo on program materials and advertisements.
- Staying abreast of local company and law firm best practices, market and industry trends, and provides competitor research, in the area of client events.
- Assisting on ad hoc projects when required.
- Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.
As a Business Development Coordinator-Client Events, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Business Development Coordinator – Client Events must have the ability to prioritize, organize and meet tight deadlines, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to function well as an individual contributor and as a member of a team. The successful Coordinator must possess strong attention to detail, strong skills in Microsoft office, and excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
A Bachelor’s degree is required as well as three (3) years of relevant experience in event management. Experience working in a professional services marketing environment is highly preferred, but not required, and experience in using CRM systems is preferred. The Coordinator must also have experience in managing event budgets. Frequent travel will be required of this position.
