As a Practice Development Senior Coordinator-Global Capital Markets, you will report to the Practice Development Manager-Global Capital Markets (PDM) and help develop and support the practice’s growth in key and growing markets across the globe. The Senior Coordinator will be expected to collaborate with lawyers, Business Development (BD) colleagues, and various departments across the firm to execute on the responsibilities outlined below:
- Understand the clients of the Capital Markets practice to help lawyers develop relationships or find opportunities to cross-serve other practice groups within the firm
- Research and analyze with the PDM the practice’s market share and position across products and markets
- Utilize market research to have a keen understanding of our competitors and their offerings globally
- Identify industry or market trends to assist the development of strategic plans for the practice’s growth
- Stay current on the practice’s business pipeline and work flow by utilizing internal and external sources of information
- Help inform the global practice group of key market developments, deal highlights and practice performance by way of live meetings, global video conferences and newsletters
- Disseminate global practice and market trends to the wider BD team
- Collaborate with other Practice Development teams and Industry Development Specialists to coordinate cross-practice initiatives and client development and targeting efforts
- Conduct research on prospective clients and work with the PDM to identify business opportunities
- Maintain and create content for pitches and proposals and act as an advisor to the firm’s centralized proposal team
- Work with the PDM to ensure consistency of marketing materials and branding for capital markets globally
- Liaise with events teams on internal and external events and provide advice on clients and prospects to invite to high priority firm-hosted events and seminars
- Identify opportunities for thought leadership and speaking opportunities to increase both internal and external brand awareness for the practice
- Support on legal directory, league table and award submissions
- Coordinate the business development aspect of at least one of the firm’s financial institution client accounts, which includes coordinating a global team of partners
- Become a subject matter expert and help train other BD members on the basics of capital markets and the firm’s capabilities and resources in the area
- Support the PDM to organize practice group meetings and retreats, which may require domestic or international travel
As a Practice Development Senior Coordinator-Global Capital Markets, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The ideal candidate will display the strong analytical skills needed for all primary duties of position, including comprehending and communicating data, organization skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines, and well developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to proofread and ensure accurate pitches, presentations, database entries and other work products, the ability to perceive and analyze problems, and a capacity to make or recommend sound decisions, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
A Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or a related field is required, as well as more than four (4) years of related subject matter experience and related analytical experience. Two (2) to four (4) years pf relevant experience working within Corporate and Finance practice areas is desired. Occasional travel is required of this position.
