Senior Business Analyst-Dispute Resolution

Role Summary

The Senior Business Analyst will partner with the Global Business Director for Dispute Resolution in supporting the global Litigation Group on day-to-day business operations and strategic initiatives, with a focus on financial management, efficiency and performance; lawyer recruiting, training and development; department meeting coordination; experience and knowledge management; business planning, development and marketing; recreational activities; and special projects. The Senior Business Analyst will also work directly and collaboratively with partners and other Litigation Group and firm business services and legal personnel in those areas.  The firm prides itself on mentoring and training, with a view toward organizational achievement and the professional growth and success of our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage information, conduct research and analysis, and prepare customized presentations and reports associated with key business performance metrics
  • Regularly monitor, analyze and report on headcount, activity levels, revenue, inventory, profitability and expenses to enhance practice group performance
  • Lead role on special projects associated with legal project management, alternative fee and staffing arrangements, and lawyer efficiency and profitability
  • Identify opportunities and solutions to enhance efficiency of business processes
  • Plan and coordinate team meetings and lawyer training and development programs
  • Support legal recruiting efforts with candidate/market research, interview coordination, and assistance with onboarding and integration
  • Coordinate efforts to enhance the tracking and profiling of the Litigation Group’s practice and precedential work product in the firm’s experience and knowledge management platforms
  • Meet independently with external service providers, evaluate offerings and make acquisition recommendations on services and tools that have potential to support the practice group
  • Collaborate with the business development and marketing team on strategic planning and cross-selling initiatives
  • Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining practice group Intranet content
  • Participate in planning of events to foster practice group morale
  • Lead and engage in other high-value special projects to support the practice group, business unit and the firm

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of years of experience in a law firm or corporate business environment

Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous

  • Able to work extended hours and communicate outside of standard business hours as needed
