Complex Commercial Litigation (CCL) Paralegal

Overview
The New York office of a premier, global, law firm is currently searching for an experienced litigation paralegal to provide case support in all phases of litigation. This position requires a self-starter who is extremely detail-oriented, flexible, organized, and able to work with little supervision. The incumbent supports a number of attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and editing correspondence and litigation documents.
- Organizing and maintaining hard copy and electronic files for multiple cases, as well as filing of the same.
- Performing factual research and searching databases for specific information.
- Coordinating and managing large document collections and productions.
- Preparing materials for hearings, interviews, depositions, and trials.
- Bluebook cite-checking and general proofreading.
- Tracking case dockets.
- Managing case calendars.
- Collecting patents, file histories, assignments, and other IP-related documents from theUSPTO, PTAB, and other databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic background required.
- 5-10 years of law firm experience.
- Technical skills: MS Office, Relativity, CaseMap, PACER, NYS Courts Electronic Filing, Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Knowledge of rules of civil procedure (federal and state, including the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules) and familiarity with the local rules of various courts.
- Knowledge of e-discovery rules and document collection procedures and experience e- filing in various courts.
- Government/internal investigations experience a plus.
- Intellectual property litigation experience a plus.
