As a key member of our dynamic and professional team, you will work with individual attorneys and practice groups in the office on developing and implementing marketing strategies and local business development programs. Firm is a team oriented environment and the successful candidate will report directly to the Business Development Manager and work closely and collaboratively with the local and global BD teams. Core responsibilities include:

  • New Business Proposals. Producing local pitch books, RFP responses and presentations and conduct follow-up with key attorneys.
  • Seminars and Events. Working with attorneys to develop timely, relevant presentation topics and planning substantive seminars to promote attorney expertise. Planning and executing special events including social events, receptions and group sporting events.
  • Market Awareness & Visibility. Identifying opportunities to collaborate with trade associations and other business organizations to raise the firm’s profile. Coordinating panel/speaking engagements and sponsorships.
  • Collateral Management. Updating and maintaining local marketing materials, including practice profiles, office resumes, attorney profiles, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Directory Submissions. Coordinating directory submissions and other surveys in close collaboration with the attorneys and the global BD and PR teams.
  • Deal Database Maintenance. Gathering deal and case data from attorneys and updating information on a regular basis.
  • Competitive and Market Intelligence. Conducting research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and librarian searches. Staying abreast of local company best practices, market and industry trends, and providing competitor research to assist the Manager in making recommendations for the Office.
  • External Communications. Working with global PR team to coordinate public relations and publicity opportunities for Firm and attorneys, including article placement.
  • Supporting local BD team with general administrative tasks; maintaining pitch book files, updating information on spreadsheets, submitting check requests and expense reports.

As a Business Development Coordinator, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Business Development Coordinator must have advanced skills with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, with InterAction a plus. High attention to detail and quality, including exceptional proofreading skills, and the ability to perform under pressure with a customer service focus, a must.
A Bachelor’s degree in related field required. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in business development and marketing field required. Law firm experience, particularly experience working with an antitrust and/or corporate practices a plus.
