Job Description
A leading global law firm, is currently seeking a temporary Document Specialist to join our Global Document Services team located in midtown New York. The Global Document Services team, located in New York, Los Angeles and Manchester, UK work together as one virtual unit providing high quality document production services for all Firm offices around the globe.
As a Document Specialist you will work as part of the Global Document Services team (“GloDOCS”) by providing document processing services such as creating, editing and otherwise manipulating legal documents and other work product for lawyers throughout the Firm. At times, he or she is responsible for communicating status of jobs with customers via email or telephone.
Role and responsibilities also include:
- Completing basic to advanced-level projects in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Acrobat Professional with high accuracy and within strict deadlines
- Using “core utilities” such as DocX Tools, AbbyyFineReader, and Litera Change-Pro
- Proofreading for accuracy
- Converting and formatting documents from one application to another
- Troubleshooting and stabilizing documents
- Utilizing the Document Management System (DMS) to retrieve, deliver, and manage documents
- Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
Key Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word 2010
- Basic to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working in a center environment preferred
- Ability to learn new software packages quickly
- Team player
Firm values integrity and adaptability in our fast-paced, collaborative environment. You must have a High School diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with two (2) years’ experience working as a Document Specialist at a professional services organization. The successful Document Specialist will have a strong knowledge of applications typically used in a legal word processing environment, such as MS Office Suite, Acrobat, Interwoven, Abbyy FineReader and DocXTools. He or she also has the ability to learn new software packages quickly. Fluency in European languages (German, French, Italian, or Spanish) is a plus. Microsoft certifications are preferred.
