Premier, Fortune 100 best places to work for 18 straight years, law firm is conducting a search for a Legal Administrative Assistant to support Firm attorneys in the New York office’s fast-paced Finance Practice Group. Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of prior legal experience in the Transactional or Financial practice area.
Knowledge & Abilities
• Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing
• Must have the ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
• Knowledge of and experience with general office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ideal candidates should have the ability to work independently while handling complex situations, analytical, and self-starters
• Must flexibility to stay beyond normal working hours when workload demands
Essential Duties
• Heavy administrative work
• Case management
• Coordinating travel arrangements
• Processing expense reimbursements
• Document production
• Typing, editing, and proofreading documents
• Entering attorney time
• Billing
• Sorting mail
• Interacting with clients
• Maintaining files
• Answering telephones
Skills for Success
• Candidates should have heavy billing experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Styles, Excel, PowerPoint)
• General office procedures and filing techniques
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Able to work with a wide spectrum of individuals
Education & Skills
• A high school diploma is required; an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• Must have 3+ years of prior legal experience in the Transactional or Financial practice area
• Candidates must have excellent proofreading skills and great attention to detail
