Assistant Supervisor Document Processing (Evening)

Overview

The Document Processing Assistant Supervisor will assist the supervisor in coordinating the work flow of the Document Processing department to ensure productivity and efficiency. The Document Processing Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and training a staff of 10-25 employees on a particular shift.

Responsibilities

Assessing and rearranging job priorities and deadlines; monitoring time, resources, and document processing jobs in progress on a constant basis; assuming responsibility in the absence of the Document Processing Supervisor; assisting in the supervising, training and evaluation of employees; interacting with lawyers and other Firm departments to clarify instructions and accommodate special requests; performing administrative functions such as maintaining attendance records, approving diaries, monitoring overtime, administering policies and procedures; assisting the Document Processing Supervisor with interviewing and orienting new employees; understanding and able to use all software in order to perform various document processing jobs and to accurately assess incoming requests; maintaining order and a sense of professional decorum at all times; participating in the annual performance evaluation of staff; documenting discussions and working with the Document Processing Supervisor to report employee relation issues to senior management; attending required technical and administrative training; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

College degree or work equivalent required; 1+ year of supervisory or managerial experience in a legal or investment banking document processing environment; Or 3+ years as a document processing specialist exhibiting capabilities and qualities to fulfill the duties of an Assistant Supervisor; extensive knowledge of document processing equipment and software; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent proofreading skills; strong analytical skills; ability to be a team player and leader; demonstrates an enthusiastic, high energy, and can do attitude; ability to solve problems and meet strict deadlines; ability to develop, motivate and lead staff; ability to work effectively with differing opinions and diverse personalities; ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time; and available to work overtime, including holidays, as needed.
