Role Summary
Manager, HR Reporting & Analytics (“the Manager”) will advance and refine HR’s reporting and analytic capabilities, leveraging existing Workday, viDesktop platforms and historic PeopleSoft data in collaboration with the Director, HR Analytics & Compensation. The Manager will advocate for systems and data collection procedures that will drive improved capabilities for reporting and analytics. These capabilities include processes and metrics to ensure timely, accurate and insightful people information that will support and drive business decisions. This position is also responsible for designing and developing dashboards for firm leaders, partners, executives, leaders and stakeholders and internal clients. The Manager will be part of a team that provides HR and business leaders with actionable, data driven insights conveyed in dashboards and reports. This is a hands-on role, in which the Manager will help tell the firm’s “talent story” through workforce metrics, train the HR team on analytical tools and procedures and manage HR analytics projects to improve the firm’s ability to recruit, develop and retain the best talent. This position will partner with the Director, HR Analytics & Compensation on all aspects of the Reporting & Analytics team’s work and direction including team objectives & vision, team structure, and ongoing support & development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support reporting and analytics across all areas of HR including performance management, talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and diversity, providing data and insights to help tell a story and inform business decisions.
- Understand the needs of HR and firm leadership to provide appropriate metrics and insights that will drive improvements in service delivery and operational effectiveness in key business areas.
- Automate, standardize, schedule and publish key reports, dashboards and analyses to help disseminate data and insights to key leaders and other stakeholders.
- Apply expertise in research and data visualization to see beyond the numbers and help Firm recruit, develop and retain top talent.
- Provide expertise as it relates to best practices and industry trends in data governance and data management strategies.
- Assess internal and external data (e.g. best practices and benchmarks) to improve HR data and analytics strategy.
- Manage the pipeline of HR reporting and analytics projects worked on by the team to make sure targets and expectations for delivery are fulfilled.
- Be the expert for HR reporting and analytics and provide guidance to all HR colleagues around their use of data and analytics, define the best approach to meet their needs and implement solutions.
- Manage team member(s) – first on components of projects, and then assuming full responsibility for ongoing management and professional development of direct report(s) including hiring, coaching & development, performance management and rewards.
- Create and maintain all reporting-related documentation, processes and procedures
- Manage provision of ad hoc queries as needed to key business users.
- Support the evolution of our HR reporting and analytics to a more sustainable and scalable solution, in partnership with our HR Systems team and all HR colleagues.
- Keep abreast of changes in the business and reporting structures so that analytics remain relevant.
- Work toward embedding analytics within all HR functions by providing training and support for HR power users of all HR systems and reporting tools that allow HR business partners to quickly and effectively access HR data for enhancing business decisions.
- Search for trends, patterns and issues in data and evaluates current practices and methods for reporting and analysing data.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- HR experience preferable, particularly in workforce planning and analytics, or in an HR area where the analysis, and interpretation of large volumes of data are combined to build compelling storylines to support key business decisions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for HR reporting and analytics with in-depth knowledge and understanding of analytics methodologies, initiatives, metrics and tools such as Workday and Tableau
- Demonstrated ability and experience working with analytics, familiarity with statistical methods (e.g. regression analysis) and advanced skills in data manipulation & transformation (e.g. expert in MS Excel, and/ or proficient in Tableau).
- Strong project management capabilities to manage multiple project streams and complexity; propensity for thinking through projects in a process-oriented way with flawless execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex data, analysis, and insights in a clear, executive ready, easy to digest, and actionable way

Education & Experience
- Prefer Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics or Human Resources
- 7+ years of applicable analysis and/or reporting experience for Human Resources
- 5+ years of experience managing people (managing, mentoring and developing talent)
- Expert proficiency in Excel and PPT required; proficiency in Workday and Tableau preferred, experience in PeopleSoft including SQL/SQR is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Access and Word preferred.
- Strong project management and business process design experience preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
