Manager of Alumni Relations

M-F, 9:30am-5:30pm (Additional hours as required)

Summary

Working closely with the Firm’s Alumni working group and Firm management, the Manager of Alumni Relations is responsible for the development and implementation of the Firm’s alumni relations program. He/She will launch, lead, monitor and report on initiatives designed to promote a consistent dialogue with and among the Firm’s alumni community through multiple channels.

The Alumni Relations Manager will have overall responsibility for the development and maintenance of an alumni portal. He/She will be responsible for executing the launch of the portal and for drafting, implementing and enforcing guidelines related to content posted to the portal. He/She will be responsible for project managing alumni initiatives throughout the Firm, including, but not limited to, a job placement program and job board, CLE presentations, relevant social media postings, alumni data management, relevant events, and providing the Marketing and Business Development team, Human Capital Management and Firm Management monthly data analytics on alumni, and the performance of the alumni engagement initiatives.

Relationships

The Manager of Alumni Relations will report to the Director of Marketing Services and will oversee the alumni initiative program. He/She will work collaboratively and seamlessly with colleagues across various firm internal departments, specifically the Marketing and Business Development, Human Capital Management Departments, Practice Group Directors/Managers and Firm Management.

Responsibilities 

Alumni Relations

  • Responsible for the development, execution and oversight of the Firm’s overall alumni relations program.
  • Provide the Marketing and Business Development team, Human Capital Management and Firm Management monthly data analytics on our alumni as it relates to the individual practice groups and overall firm’s strategic plan.
  • Research, develop and implement best practices for the successful outreach to the Firm’s alumni.
  • Project manage various alumni initiatives, including, but not limited to, the alumni portal build and maintenance for the integrations and content created throughout the portal.
  • Develop and disseminate alumni standards manual and style guide.

Project Management

  • Project manage alumni initiatives throughout the Firm, including, but not limited to, job placement and job board, CLE presentations, that firm news is current on both the portal and social media, and alumni specific events.
  • Maintain and promote alumni and the Firm’s presence on the portal. Accountable for overall portal maintenance, online tracking, reporting and visibility enhancement initiatives.
  • Review competitors’ alumni programs to ensure we are current with technology.
  • Develop new tools and strategies to improve outreach efforts to alumni, clients and other constituencies.
  • Review, update and maintain alumni data
  • Build and manage relationships between Firm and its alumni community
  • Work closely with the Events team to plan, execute and attend any and all firmwide alumni events, while upholding the Firm’s visual identity, selecting the right venues, fact checking, and ensuring that each event is within budget. 

Specifications

College Degree required.

At least five years of alumni relations or similar experience within a large professional services firm or corporate environment.

Must have strong orientation to detail; ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, professional level staff, and peers; ability to act in a professional manner at all times; ability to act with a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality; ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments; ability to work under pressure with interruptions and tight deadlines; ability to collaborate and develop consensus with peers.  Must be versatile and able to switch from project lead to project assistant as demands of particular assignments require.
