Accounting Manager/Controller

Summary
International, boutique, law firm is seeking an accounting manager/controller to oversee all accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to a Principal and the Management Committee; oversee 2 staff members working in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and treasury functions
- Assist Principal with budgeting, forecasting and drafting reports
- Analyze general ledger chart of accounts; edit and post adjusted entries as necessary
- Prepare monthly reports tracking billable hours for the Management Committee
- Process quarterly tax filings; e.g., commercial rent tax and sales tax.
- Prepare and process Partner draw and overhang/special distribution schedules and submit via LMS V accounting system
- Perform various payroll functions such as processing legal and non-legal payroll and 401k contributions via ADP
- Implement the use of internal software to process various cost and pre-cost transactions
- Work closely with Partners to prepare yearly billing rates
- Generate various monthly proformas and perform diary transfers, edits and write-offs
- Expedite e-billing services to specific clients
- Troubleshoot accounting software
- HR duties including annual reviews and interim counseling
- Maintain headcount, FTE calculations, track compensation/PTO
- Maintain analytic schedules for filing federal, state, and local partnership and partner income tax returns
- Prepare monthly cash and accrual profit reports and cash sources/uses report
- Prepare quarterly profit statements and balance sheet for distribution to partners and financial institutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a preference for a professional on track to being a CPA
- 2-3 plus years of law or accounting firm experience preferably in a managerial capacity
- Articulate with good written communication skills
