As the Litigation Services Senior Coordinator, you will perform a wide array of general litigation research and support functions for Firm attorneys, staff, and clients within the Managing Attorney’s Office. The Senior Coordinator will act as liaison between Firm attorneys and outside counsel, courts and administrative agencies (and all related personnel), through activities including but not limited to responding to procedural inquiries, conducting legal research, and handling review, service, and filing of legal papers. The Senior Coordinator will also assist with mentoring and training new attorneys and staff. Essential duties of the Senior Coordinator include: Provides a wide array of general litigation support functions for Firm attorneys, staff, and clients, including but not limited to:

  • Assists in active litigation case management, with tasks including but not limited to docketing of all contested matters utilizing a database such as MA3000 or CompuLaw, culminating in the weekly publication of a firm-wide litigation department calendar, monitoring case status through manual and electronic means and insuring the timely retrieval of decisions and orders in all Firm matters;
  • Performs extensive legal research and consults with attorneys on court rules, procedure and guide these attorneys on the utilization of various online resources, along with provides subject matter expertise to attorneys on use;
  • Drafts and reviews complex legal documents for conformity with court rules and procedures, including but not limited to Notices of Appearance, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Stipulations, Notices of Appeal, Notices of Motion, Substitutions of Counsel, Subpoenas, Judgments, Affidavits of Service, Certificates of Good Standing and Foreign Service of Process Forms.
  • Electronically files a wide range of court papers – remaining current in the nuances of electronic filing rules to ensure successful submissions. Coordinates with court personnel and process servers as needed and maintains electronic court filing (ECF) passwords.
  • Obtains exemplars and templates of documents filed in court in response to attorney and staff requests for precedent.
  • Coordinates court admissions for the office, communicates with attorneys and secretaries regarding data collection and verification process and establishes workflow for addressing incoming and departing attorney admissions and obtains certificates of good standing
  • Assists with special projects on various issues as needed, with a primary focus on supporting Assistant Managing Attorney and Supervising Attorney
  • Promotes effective work practices and works as a team member in support of all Firm employees.
  • Completes various projects as needed.

As the Litigation Services Senior Coordinator, you will be expected to apply strong leadership, organizational, communication and time management skills needed to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm as well as solid attention to detail, the ability to thrive under pressure and an advanced ability to perceive and analyze problems and develop alternate strategies to solve them. The successful Senior Coordinator will manifest high-level customer service skills; promptly respond to incoming requests and work effectively with senior management, attorneys and all levels of personnel with tact and courtesy. He or she must also possess the confidence and discipline to work independently and provide concise and specific recommendations to attorneys, supervisors and staff while exhibiting the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. The Senior Coordinator will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office and court software, as well as other programs necessary to complete thorough analyses and reports. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.

A J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in a law firm docket department may be considered in lieu of the above. There (3) to four (4) years of experience in a law firm is desired.
