Responsibilities

Performs a variety of library tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Using print and electronic resources, performs legal and non-legal reference and research services for attorneys and paralegals.
  • Performs interlibrary loan and document delivery transactions.
  • Processes invoices, incoming mail, new books, and perform other duties as needed.
  • Coordinates training for attorneys and paralegals with Lexis & Westlaw representatives.
  • Works independently, following established practices and procedures. Coordinates with west coast librarians when necessary.
  • Coordinates CLE programs for attorneys, tracks CLE history for attorneys.  We are an accredited CLE provider.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one to two years of recent library experience. Masters in Library Science preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform functions requiring a high degree of accuracy and careful attention to detail.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and strong self-motivation.
  • Capable of working efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current or prospective Library School students encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience searching electronic databases, Westlaw / Lexis required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required  (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Proficiency searching & exploiting Internet legal & non-legal resources required.
