Job Description

Under the direction of the Pro Bono Counsel and Pro Bono Associate, the Pro Bono Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to Pro Bono Program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing all of the administrative needs of the Pro Bono Program and its team members
  • Responsible for answering telephone calls and streamlining requests
  • Responsible for all aspects of organizing frequent internal and external meetings and events, and serving as the point of contact for external contacts attending meetings
  • Responsible for updating and tracking all contact information related to the firm’s legal services partners
  • Responsible for communicating coverage with other Administrative Assistants
  • Responsible for performing routine reports related to the Pro Bono Program using the firm’s Lotus Notes database and maintaining certain data in updates to spreadsheets
  • Responsible for filing and maintain an organized work environment for all members of the Pro Bono Program team
  • Responsible for preparing and processing T&E
  • Responsible for keeping the Pro Bono Program’s Task List current and maintaining information regarding status of tasks
  • Responsible for handling requests to process charitable donations related to the Pro Bono Program 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of administrative experience, preferably in a law firm environment
  • Excellent organizational abilities required, with meticulous attention to detail also required
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written Proficient in MSWord, Excel and Outlook. Lotus Notes a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work in a collegial manner and work well as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take responsibility for projects to their conclusion and proactively identify team needs
  • Background or demonstrated interest in social justice issues a plus
