Position Summary
This position offers a challenging opportunity for someone to play a key role in a professional legal recruiting team. Responsibilities will focus on assisting in planning and executing all aspects of the Firm’s Summer Associate Program, facilitating the Fall Recruiting process (“OCI”), and assisting with lateral associate hiring and integration. Successful candidates will have a professional presence, demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative, and exhibit stellar interpersonal, organizational, management, and technical skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Summer Associate Program
- Provide maximum support to summer associates to ensure that their experience at the firm is of the highest quality;
- Work with the Legal Recruitment Manager to manage and execute all aspects of the Summer Associate Program, including, but not limited to, pre-program planning and development, design and implementation of orientation week, planning and organizing social events across multiple offices, and working with Professional Development team to provide meaningful trainings and seminars:
- Maintain daily contact with summer associates; and
- Plan and attend social outings for summer associates and attorneys.
Fall Recruiting Program
- Serve as point of contact with law schools;
- Coordinate on-campus interview registration with law school career service offices;
- Conduct review of law schools visited on an on-going basis and recommend strategic changes as appropriate;
- Prepare and analyze reports and projections regarding law school recruiting success and other issues for Hiring Partner;
- Assist with correspondence with call-back candidates, schedule call-back candidates for respective offices;
- Collect interview feedback from attorneys to ensure timely hiring decisions;
- Work with Legal Recruitment Manager, Hiring Partner, and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to develop 1L reach-out programs; and
- Assist with planning for appropriate interview training.
Lateral Hiring / Orientation and Integration
- Assist Legal Recruitment Manager with lateral associate hiring in all offices;
- Establish and maintain search firm relationships;
- Assist in managing interview and offer process for lateral associate searches;
- Facilitate reference and conflict checks for lateral candidates; and
- Work with Human Resources and Professional Development teams on lateral associate orientation and integration.
Other Responsibilities
- Assess and maintain industry data regarding associate compensation;
- Manage recruiting survey distribution and communication;
- Maintain Careers page on firm website; and
- Keep abreast of current recruiting practices.
Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years recruiting experience in a global law firm (preferred) or legal/professional services environment.
- Four year college degree;
- Superior communication skills;
- Excels in a fast pace environment;
- Exercises discretion and sound judgment;
- Must display a professional demeanor at all times;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to problem solve and offer effective solutions;
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Power Point strongly preferred;
- Knowledge of legal recruitment database Lawcruit and/or viRecruit a plus, but not required.
