Business Development Coordinator

Summary
The Dallas, TX office of a global, Fortune 100 best places to work, law firm has an opening for a Business Development Coordinator. The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and successful execution of a variety of business development and marketing initiatives including preparing pitches, invitations and seminar materials, coordinating details for client events, using customer relationship software for mailing and event lists and monitoring business development budgets. This proactive position requires a detail-oriented self-starter committed to delivering a high quality work product under tight deadlines.
Essential Duties
• Materials: Create and deliver RFPs and pitch materials by collecting content from the firm’s databases and attorney feedback. Develop customized materials for prospect presentations at individual partner requests. Involves original writing, formatting independently or working with graphics department, editing, soliciting feedback, proofreading and submitting by deadline. For new hires in Dallas, drafting biographies, schedule photographs and participate in orientation meetings.
• Mailing lists: Manage mailing lists related to practice group and office marketing efforts. Monitor the accuracy and updating of client contacts/client team activity information within the firm’s customer relationship software system.
• Client events: Responsible for handling all Dallas client events, internally and externally, and assisting with other Finance group firm wide events as needed. Includes initial meetings with attorneys, developing mailing lists, working with graphics to develop invitations, tracking responses, setting budgets and menus.
• Research: Perform industry, prospect, firm experience and competitor research as requested. Includes drafting, editing and proofreading materials, recommending changes and working with other business development staff to complete projects.
• Credentialing: Assist with directory, award and ranking submissions by drafting and collecting information and maintaining a list of current recognition by practice group and geography. Assist in implementing the Dallas office marketing and public relations plan. Prepare drafts for survey responses.
• Communication with supervisors is crucial. Weekly written project status updates are required, as well as information updates more frequently as requested.
Skills Necessary for Success
• Strong detail orientation and tenacious follow-up skills;
• Multi-tasking and prioritizing in a service-oriented environment;
• Strong oral and written communication (skills spelling, grammar usage, writing skills, etc.);
• Experience with InterAction, Elite and Concierge a plus;
• Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or Communications preferred.
• 2 to 4+ years of professional services marketing is preferred.
• Ability to interact with busy attorneys with poise.
• Ability to team effectively with other staff at all levels within the firm.
• Ability to set priorities and make appropriate judgments.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
