General Summary
The New York office of a Fortune 100 best places to work ranked, major U.S. law firm is conducting a search for a Litigation Paralegal to assist Firm attorneys on commercial cases, arbitrations, and white-collar criminal defense matters in our fast paced Litigation & Trial Practice Group. Criminal litigation, class action litigation and electronic discovery experience is preferred. Candidates should be self-starters, highly organized and team players. Overtime is often needed to meet client deadlines. Some travel required.
Essential Duties
- Reviewing and analyzing matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to attorneys and clients
- Establishing, organizing, and maintaining pleadings, attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists
- Participating in interviews of parties, witnesses, and experts and providing assistance with interview memos, written statements, and/or affidavits
- Reviewing and outlining depositions, indexes and summarizing documents
- Providing assistance in the trial of cases including the scheduling of witnesses and tracking exhibits
- Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources, including libraries and computer data systems
- Proofreading and marking legal documents
- Interacting with clients and maintaining files
Requirements
- Four year college degree required; paralegal certificate recommended
