Junior Recruiting Coordinator/Senior Recruiting Assistant

Reports to: Director of Legal Recruiting

Premier, global, law firm has an opening for a Junior Recruiting Coordinator or Senior Recruiting Assistant. The title and scope of the role will depend on the experience of the individual candidate. In general, this position will provide support to the firm’s On-Campus Recruiting and Summer Associate programs. 

Summary of Position

Assist with all aspects of summer associate/entry level hiring including:

  • Registration for on-campus interviews/hospitality suites
  • Preparation of interview packets, marketing materials, giveaways for hospitality suites and other on-campus events
  • Act as liaison with law school Career Services offices, prospective candidates, and Firm lawyers/administrators
  • Travel to various law schools for on-campus interviews and other recruiting events (e.g. recruiting receptions, offer dinners, panel presentations)
  • Schedule callback interviews and “second-look” visits for law students
  • Plan and attend offer dinners and other follow-up events
  • Work with Campus Relations team to coordinate law student organization outreach and sponsorships throughout the year
  • Liaise with offices outside of New York, specifically the Bay Area and Washington, DC, to coordinate recruiting efforts and campus relations initiatives, and to ensure everyone has the proper guidance and support
  • Maintain legal recruiting database (viRecruit) and audit reports to ensure accuracy of information (including supervision of temps who will assist with data entry during recruiting season)
  • Compile data for NALP forms, Employer Feedback information for schools, as well as other surveys/requests that are submitted from time to time
  • Act as point of contact for attorneys and summer associates
  • Participation and involvement in other departmental responsibilities and/or firm-wide projects as is appropriate (e.g. summer associate events, lateral recruiting, recruiting brochure and website updates, campus relations, diversity & inclusion initiatives, etc.)
  • Assist with other administrative duties, as assigned, and provide support for the Legal Recruiting Director and the recruiting department, as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of law firm/law school recruiting experience and/or related recruiting experience required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred (esp. viRecruit)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to keep calm and focused despite heavy workload and/or stressful situations
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibits high level of maturity and excellent judgment
  • High energy, works well independently, but especially as part of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with attorneys, candidates, administrative staff, and others
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed, especially during recruiting season (July-October)
