Recruiting and Campus Relations Coordinator

Reports to: Campus Relations Manager

Summary of Position

  • Works within the Recruiting Department to develop and implement outreach plans at a number of law schools to ensure that the Firm is top-of-mind for students
  • Builds relationships with Career Services professionals and student organizations to develop programming which targets students and illustrates the strengths of the firm, including our numerous Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
  • Working with the Campus Relations Manager, and the recruiting team, plans and executes a variety of events for law students throughout the year, displaying a continuum of outreach
  • Travels to on-campus interviews and events as needed; may participate in panel presentations/workshops depending on type and breadth of the candidate’s experience
  • During recruiting season, helps schedule callback interviews and acts as a point of contact for students; coordinates with the firm’s Inclusion Networks to foster their involvement in recruiting initiatives
  • Liaises with hiring partners, school teams and other lawyers to plan school-specific events/outreach, and to ensure follow-up efforts are in place for all candidates who receive offers.  This includes developing unique follow-up ideas – and aiding in their execution
  • Provides detailed reports outlining outreach activities and offer/follow-up status; meets regularly with hiring partners and recruiting team to discuss progress and success
  • Performs related administrative duties ranging from the generation of reports from the viRecruit database, to tracking of prospective recruits from prior applications and maintaining event RSVPs
  • During the Summer Associate Program, assists with events as needed and acts as a resource for summer associates.  Collaborates with summer associates to brainstorm ideas for outreach on their respective campuses and leverages those relationships and ideas to recruit top talent
  • Assists Campus Relations Manager with the firm’s involvement in the SEO intern program (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), includes participation in planning meetings, conducting intern orientation, and general oversight during their time at the firm
  • Coordinates the recruiting process for the LCLD 1L Scholars program (Leadership Council on Legal Diversity), includes soliciting applications, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews and overseeing the follow-up and onboarding process
  • Helps with other recruiting efforts and special projects as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JDs welcome, but not mandatory
  • Two or more years of law firm/law school recruiting/campus relations experience, or related experience, preferred (i.e. management consulting or banking recruitment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits high level of professionalism and judgment
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with attorneys, candidates, administrative staff, and others
  • Highly energetic and enthusiastic; works well independently, but especially as part of a team
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Self –motivated and shows creativity in approach to work
  • Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Displays an interest in and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives and their importance to the firm’s success
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed, especially during recruiting season
