Managing Clerk

Reports to: Litigation Practice Group Leader and Director of Administration
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of e-discovery software including Concordance, FYI, MA3000, IPRO and Adobe Full Version
- Docket all legal documents including entering and calculating dates for Appeals, Judgments, Motions, Services, Stipulations and all discovery into MA 3000.
- Monitor and review all Appeals, Decisions, Judgments, Motions, and Stipulations for the firm’s federal and state cases and manage electronic case filings of all legal documents
- Knowledge of federal and state court rules; assist and inform all legal staff including attorneys regarding legal document filings procedures and electronic case filing procedures.
- Process and service of all legal documents such as Subpoenas, Summons and Complaints and travel to all Federal and State Courts to file legal documents as well as review court records.
- Conduct independent factual and legal research including Internet, Westlaw, Pacer and Courtlink research
- Document scanning and Bates Numbering
- Organize and manage litigation documents
- File management
- Basic document drafting
- Create document indexes
- Perform factual research including Internet research
- Create and maintain court paper binder information
- Troubleshoot any problems with Litigation Practice Group Leader
- Compile motions and other court papers
- Other billable tasks as assigned and other projects upon request
- Court runs
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience combined in managing clerk/litigation paralegal experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency on Microsoft Word
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive detail
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel
- Ability to work under stress
- Must be flexible with overtime
- Willingness to work with and assist other staff members in accomplishing work assignments
- Pleasant and cooperative attitude
- Must be able to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly
