Corporate Communications and Recognition Supervisor

Summary
The Corporate Communications and Recognition Supervisor helps craft and execute Firms’ recognition strategy for awards, rankings and surveys across the Firm’s practices areas and creates compelling communications about accolades, deals, matters and other firm accomplishments.
Responsibilities
- Strategize and implement a recognition strategy for the Firm’s participation in various submissions;
- Write submissions and coordinate logistics surrounding submissions;
- Manage external directories consultant for Legal 500 United States and Chambers USA;
- Conduct research and liaise with team members and lawyers to gather information needed for compelling submissions;
- Prepare lawyers for related interviews;
- Cultivate relationships with editors and researchers involved with recognitions;
- Maintain recognition calendar and tracking and analysis of results;
- Lead and execute promotion plans to maximize visibility of recognitions internally and externally;
- Leverage submissions content by creating compelling communications about the work of the Firm and accomplishments for internal and external audiences;
- Coordinate with BD, Communications and Alumni teams to effectively leverage information and ensure consistent messaging on Firm work and accolades across channels;
- Oversee creation and maintenance of top matters lists for key practices areas;
- Collaborate in the strategic development, design and production of various printed and electronic communications materials;
- Work overtime as required; and
- Handle additional Communications, Public Relations and Media handling projects as required.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in English language, punctuation, spelling, grammar and writing skills;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Advanced proficiency in internet research and resources (Lexis Nexis, MediaMap);
- Advanced proficiency in project management;
- Advanced knowledge of communications principles, procedures and concepts;
- Advanced knowledge of legal and professional services marketing, including developments, trends, analysis, technologies and literature;
- Advanced knowledge of the relevant surveys, rankings, directories;
- Advanced knowledge of PR, branding and the development of internal and external communications initiatives and tools;
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts;
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent (required) with an emphasis in Public Relations, journalism, communications or marketing (preferred);
- At least 10 years of writing experience; and
- At least 3 years of professional services or law firm experience (preferred).
