Reports to: Manager, Professional Development
Summary
Coordinate professional development initiatives including the lawyer performance review process, training programs, and social events. The Professional Development Coordinator reports to the Manager of Professional Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates the lawyer performance review process
- Coordinates training programs
- Coordinates Summer Associate University, including a complex mock transaction program
- Works closely with the Associates Committee to implement new initiatives
- Updates the firm’s Career Center
- Plans associate social events
- Research best practices for new firm initiatives designed to enhance associate development and retention
- Enters firm, client, and MCLE program information into CE Manager, the firm’s MCLE tracking database
- Build rapport with associates
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of CE Manager and viDesktop and familiarity with the NY and CA MCLE rules preferred
- Proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments while working under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional development or other similar experience in a law firm or professional services organization
Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary
