Coordinator, Professional Development-CLE

Reports to:  Manager, Professional Development

Summary

Responsible for coordinating CLE training programs and other professional development initiatives, and administration of the firm’s MCLE tracking database.  The Professional Development Coordinator reports to the Manager of Professional Development.

The main duties and responsibilities are outlined below: 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates training programs such as “Lean In,” firm-wide Ethics programs, and the “Mini-MBA” series.
  • Coordinates the firm’s Rosetta Stone foreign language learning program.
  • Coordinates training for the New York Corporate Group, including the Corporate “Boot Camp” conference for entry-level associates.
  • Updates and maintains the firm’s MCLE tracking database, CE Manager. Serves as expert in CE Manager database administration.
  • Builds and maintains the firm’s online E-learning library.
  • Serves as an expert in NY and CA MCLE rules and regulations and remains current on regulation updates.
  • Accredits NY and CA CLE courses and maintains course materials and attendance records as required by CLE rules.
  • Maintains relationships with outside CLE vendors, coordinates webcasts and outside program enrollment, promotes programs, and tracks external program activity.
  • Liaises with CLE contacts in practice groups and other offices; provides checklists for and assistance with programs and serves as a resource for CLE-related questions.
  • Plans associate social events.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned

 Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of CE Manager and familiarity with the NY and CA MCLE rules.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments while working under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2+ years of professional development or other similar experience in a law firm preferred.

Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous

  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
