Client Accounting Applications Development Supervisor

Top premiere law firm looking for an Applications Development Supervisor to work in the Firm’s Client Accounting department.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates preparation and enhancement of Client Accounting reports, inquiries and data analysis tools.
- Coordinates efforts of systems group in responding to requests for ad hoc reports and analyses, by developing end-user business requirements into user-friendly applications.
- Execute necessary design and programming of reports utilizing SQL Server Management Studio, ADERANT Expert, Excel (including VBA), SSRS and Visual Studio (.NET, C#, VB).
- Develop and implement reporting standards and document application processes and procedures.
- Research, conduct testing and troubleshoot issues for new and existing software applications.
- Develop bill and pre-bill templates using ADERANT Docudraft development tool set in a Word environment.
- Serves as liaison to the user community for Client Accounting technical, reporting and training issues.
- Engage in short term and long range planning and coordinate with IT department regarding database and dashboard development and software application upgrades.
- Oversees employees’ work performance and provides guidance in the resolution of problems.
- Participates in the interviewing, selection and training process.
- Provides Firm-wide Client Accounting systems training and support.
- Ensures the implementation of and participates in the disciplinary action and termination of employment processes.
- Oversees and ensures proper maintenance and day-to-day operation of all department functions.
- Reviews and evaluates the performance and work of staff; prepares performance evaluations and recommends salary increases.
- Monitors time, attendance, overtime, and expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm policies.
- Ensures current knowledge of firm policies and practices for staff, current knowledge of industry trends, and continued professional development for staff.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information or Business Systems required
- Minimum of three years of experience working with Client Accounting and business systems in a corporate environment, preferably in a report development and an ad hoc query role
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
- Broad and thorough knowledge of Client Accounting field and procedures
- Broad and thorough knowledge of Client Accounting systems (i.e. ADERANT Expert or Elite, MS Excel, LEDES)
- Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, Visual Studio (.NET, C#, VB, Team Foundation Server), Access, and ExpertImage
- Ability to customize screen forms and build inquiries and reports using ADERANT Expert customization tools (Preferred).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- Personally handles more complex issues/duties requiring independent exercise of discretion and judgment
- Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
- Flexibility to travel
