Legal Billing Training & Development Specialist

Department – Client Accounting

Status –Exempt, Full Time

The Legal Billing Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing learning and development programs, including testing and evaluation procedures; creating, revising, delivering and tracking all training that supports the needs of the Client Accounting department, including, training in software applications and soft skills, in both physical and virtual classroom settings.

  • Conducts training needs analysis of global Client Accounting staff and coordinate with Global Managers on specific skills training.
  • Collaborates with IT to create an interactive e-learning platform for Client Accounting training modules and maintain same.
  • Utilizes e-learning techniques, creates and delivers e-learning packages, including on-demand training.
  • Creates, updates and maintains training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, training manuals, handouts, practice exercises and system documentation.
  • Evaluates and revises training and development programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
  • Keeps training programs vibrant and entertaining in order to engage employees and trainees.
  • Conducts tailored training sessions, both technical and soft skills, to users’ role, department and level of experience.
  • Provides training for a diverse group of users, including managers and supervisors, all levels of billing coordinators, specialized Client Accounting personnel such as E-billing, KYC and SBA, billing secretaries, Support Assistants and introductory training for new hires.
  • Engages in strategic planning by developing supporting training objectives for Client Accounting department.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.

Technical Training

  • Trains all users, domestic and international, on Aderant Expert, ensuring thorough knowledge of system and macro reporting tools.
  • Trains all users, domestic and international, on various data entry and reporting features of Star*Collect/NG.
  • Actively participates in the testing and rollout of new system features.

Soft Skills Training

  • Partners with Client Accounting managers and supervisors to validate and develop soft skills training programs.
  • Develops, delivers and maintains various soft skills training programs, i.e communication, writing, customer service, etc.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 years of legal billing experience
  • 3 years of legal applications training experience
  • Ability to gain a strong command of new systems, including ADERANT and Star*Collect/NG
  • Expert knowledge in Windows and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
  • Knowledge of programs and tools for video conference and web-based training
  • Proficient in training methodologies and curriculum development
  • Ability to plan, research, write, and produce technical training materials for new software products and features, including presentations and exercises
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism, maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all interactions with partners, attorneys, support staff, clients and others
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Flexibility to accommodate various time zones and work with a global workforce
